Research Security
GRS provides support and guidance as it pertains the federal requirements such as NSPM-33, its associated requirements, fundamental research, Controlled Unclassified Information requirements, and Technology Control Plans.
Export Compliance
GRS evaluates travel, collaborations, and access to research data for compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) as well as other regulatory guidance such as International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). GRS submits license requests to the responsible agencies including the Department of Commerce and Department of State when required. Additionally, GRS reviews shipments and transfers for compliance with export regulations.
NSPM-33
National Security Presidential Memorandum-33 (NSPM-33) and its subsequent policies provides guidance to both federal funding agencies and applicable research organizations on protecting federally funded research. Requirements are continually updated and communicated in this resource.
International Travel

Register and or get access to University facilities and IT systems for a visitor.
Insider Threat
An Insider Threat is a person who uses their access, or the access of others, to wittingly or unwittingly do harm to the University or its community.
Training
GRS offers in-person training to departments on Export Compliance, Technology Control Plans (TCPs), and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements. Online training is also available through the University's CITI and SABA platforms.
